Yellow Corn
Yellow corn is a plant species scientifically known as Zea mays. It is a member of the grass family Poaceae and is one of the most widely grown crops in the world. Maize originated in the Americas, specifically in the region that is now modern-day Mexico, and it has been cultivated for thousands of years by indigenous peoples.
The plant itself consists of a tall, leafy stalk that produces male flowers called tassels at the top and female flowers called ears lower on the stalk. The ears are the part of the plant that contains the corn kernels. Each kernel is a seed encased in a protective husk.
The most characteristic feature of yellow corn is the color of its kernels, which can range from pale yellow to deep golden hues. However, it’s essential to note that corn can come in various colors, including white, blue, red, and even multicolored varieties.
